...but more importantly, made by Any Warhol and SIBLING's Cozette McCreery! Today Converse revealed their latest campaign, which celebrates the journey that a pair of Chucks goes on with their wearer.
One of the best things about Chucks is that unlike most kicks, which require the strong arm of Crep Protect to keep them looking pristine, they actually look a better when they are a bit beaten-up. Like a fine wine, they just get better with age. My chucks are over 10 years old now and have been up and down Mount Fuji - they are scuffed and grubby but I love them so much more than when I first bought them.
London based artist, Damilola Odusote, has taken thousands of Polaroids of Londoners in their well- worn Chucks and these snaps have then been pieced together to create an ident art structure in the shape of London's outline. Each Polaroid has a six word story on it too, which kind of makes you want to climb into the structure, just to read them all. Probably not advisable.
The exhibition is being held at 3-10 Shoreditch High Street and runs until this Sunday.
